Our Thoughts

Being one of LEGO top 10 largest sets, the recreation of the house of Eldrond does not disappoint in the slightest. The set uses hilarious, yet also very impressive building techniques such as hotdogs for chairs, in order to spike that level of immersiveness. The set gives a load of enjoyment with the beautiful scenery, and featues from the films/books, that make you want to love it more.

Contents

Piece Count and Price: With 6,167 pieces at $499.99. this set gives a good return on price, with about 12 pieces on the dollar. Not to mention the level of details and minifigures add that much more value.

Figures: This set contains a surprisingly large, 15 minifigures. Each character representing the different factions, and races, that are held within the LoTR series. The Hobbit minifigures utilize the smaller leg pieces, in order to better fit their sizes from the series. and whilst one of the figures is a statue, its still neat to have a stone themed figure for displaying.

Build Process: the build process is split into 3 sections, which encourages building with friends. These 3 sections include the Council ring, Eldronds Study/Library, and Rivendell's Exterior work. With the mass amount of building techniques, this set is one of the most engaging yet, even offering some challenge with the complexity.

Additional Contents:The set contains several exclusive features such as a weapons rack featuring Sting, Narsil, and other Elven weaponry. In terms of decoration, the set has vases, statues, and delicate bannars. Hidden in the build, is a map of Middle-earth, an Elvish book, and Bilbos Book.

In summary, the set has hardly any flaws, with only some fragile sections due to mass. The LEGO 6,167 Rivendell set is one that not only us at BlockVista, but LEGO fans have been all the craze for. With such small yet developed details, as well as several play features. The set makes one of the best display pieces for bascially every LEGO fan.

My favourite build

I have a lot of Lego sets, each one inspires me, but this build was another level. The SNOT techniques used, the angles, the rocky outcrops, splashing and churning water, the Elven architecture, and the Easter eggs (such as 'shortcuts to mushrooms' and the superb collection of minifigs just made this such an incredible build. Some have complained about the price, but I feel it's spot on - the designers must have taken an incredible amount of time trying to work out how to accomplish some of the feats of engineering. It looks absolutely stunning. Surely a must-have for any LOTR and Lego fan.
